Digital health maturity (DHM) is the term used to describe how prepared healthcare systems and organizations are to accept these changes. It is the foundation of digital transformation, facilitating data-driven decision-making, improved operational efficiency, and better patient care. We the authors of the book “Digital Health Maturity (DHM): Quality, Interoperability, and Innovation” define DHM as “The developmental stage and readiness of systems and actors to leverage mechanisms and tools for enhancing sociotechnical capabilities in delivering digital health”. DHM is used to assess and enhance the innovation and digital capabilities of healthcare organizations. These models evaluate a number of digital health factors, such as patient engagement, organizational preparedness, and technology systems. DHM models usually address people, policy, and capabilities and prioritize future investments. Nowadays, DHM has been evaluated, tested, and implemented by numerous healthcare organizations, including those in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
Objective of the workshop:
The objective of this workshop is to empower healthcare professionals, policymakers, and researchers with a wide range of understanding of Digital Health Maturity (DHM) and its contribution to revolutionizing healthcare systems, especially in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Through evidence-informed learning, interactive dialogue, and experiential case studies, participants will develop the requisite skills to evaluate, initiate, and maximize digital health initiatives while exploiting emerging technologies such as AI to propel sustainable and equitable improvements in healthcare.
