2025 International Workshop on Digital Cardiovascular Health in Indonesia
Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) have emerged as the leading cause of death worldwide with annual 18 million deaths annually. The global burden of CVD has shifted explicitly to Low- and middle-Income countries (LMICs) which contributes 80% of CVD deaths. There are various factors including poor diet, inactivity, and smoking which proves to be major contributors to disease prevalence.
In LMICs such as Indonesia there are estimated 650,000 CVD deaths in the year 2023. The deaths are closely tied to patients with unhealthy dietary patterns, sedentary behaviours and smoking prevalent across various communities. Digital Intervention tools such as mobile health application is proved to be promising tool to address these challenges by providing personalized health advice and monitoring indicators. Based on this we developed an android application DETAK-C which assess patient suffering from Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) by directing them to appropriate healthcare facilities as soon as possible. With the aim of sustainable and community based expansion of DETAK-C application, we are organizing a 2025 International Digital Cardiovascular Health Workshop - Indonesia. The workshop will be held on 12th April 2025 at University of Brawijaya, Malang Indonesia.
The primary objective of the workshop is to co-design targeted health promotion activities for delivery through the DETAK-C application. The workshop also aims to provide training on utilization of DETAK-C app to healthcare providers and community health workers in patient education and as well as monitoring health outcomes. The workshop aims to enhance community and stakeholder engagement on CVD health and promote preventive measures to decrease CVD-mortality in Indonesia.
